Mute Arraigned in Beating Death Case in Santa Ana
Bert Arthur Montgomery 20 of Westminster is arraigned in Santa Ana Orange Municipal Court on a charge he helped beat to death a deaf mute. A second adult, George James Davidson 20 of La Habra, is cleared and released. Floyd Grant Vincent Je 16 of Orange is in juvenile custody with a possible trial as juvenile or adult. Vincent allegedly held the victim Eugene Pettifield 25 of Santa Ana while Montgomery delivered the fatal blow.
