Itty bitty collegians on Modesto Junior College campus packed 32 students into a single horizontal phone booth loaned by a telephone company. The crowd measured about 5 feet 8 inches and 140 pounds on average. Nearby St Mary's College students and others in England and Africa claimed similar sardine acts, while KFIV reporters covered the scene for two hours.

Federal narcotics officers arrest Anthony Marcella alleged successor to Louis Fiano as kingpin of Southern California narcotics.
