Bridge hand tests South declarer’s limits in tough deal
South, West, East, North vie in a four diamonds and clubs clash where the dummy’s ace and later trumps shape the play. West signals a seven heart suit. South hopes for doubleton club holdings but a misread line leads to a one down result. If South had led dummy’s ten of clubs then East would cover, West would reveal a nine high club sequence, and the suit would break to allow South to force the game.
