Water board to review Viejo lake filling plan
SACRAMENTO The State Water Resources Board agreed to consider Mission Viejo Co plans to fill a lake without harming water supply. A March 2 order had halted filling the recreational lake citing wasteful use of water. The firm then explored pumping low quality basin water into the lake instead of exchanging Colorado River water via the State Water Project. An engineering report is due in about four months and a rehearing is set between May 4 and May 25.
