The statement to the committee named no individual or current location but said the man remains a subject of concern to the presidential protection service. Threats began in 1956, with a six month prison sentence in Glenwood Springs for carrying bullets and a brief stay in a mental institution in 1957 after a failed attempt to telephone a threat in Baltimore.

Night Blaze at Vassar Dorm Drives 125 Students Out

Fire broke out on the top floor of a dormitory at Vassar College Monday night and forced 125 girls to flee. Only one student was injured as firefighters brought the blaze under control in about two hours.

Woman Paralyzed for 22 Years Gave Birth in Louisville

Mrs Carl Krider, paralyzed by polio since age seven, welcomed her first child Kathleen Ann Krider a 5 pound 34 ounce girl delivered by Caesarean section in Louisville. Doctors said both mother and baby Kathleen Ann Krider were doing fine. The couple, married 22 years, celebrated the birth of their daughter.

Two Children Die With Father in Car Tragedy

In Birmingham, Gerald Ray Glass, 34, and his two children Jerry 10 and Arlene 8 died from carbon monoxide after notes the children wrote hinted at agreeing with their father’s plan. Deputy Coroner James O Butler ruled it a murder suicide, with Glass despondent. Mrs Glass said there was no known trouble in the family.
