Land Plan Pondered in Hawaii Legislature
A $703 million master plan for Hawaii land and economic development over 20 years has been submitted by the State Planning Office and private consultants. It calls for state land zoning, a large public works program, an air ferry between islands, and the creation of a state highway and park system. Governor Quinn endorses it as a step toward balanced growth and orderly development financed partly by federal aid.
