Court dates set for the in kidnaping of girl
Visalia UPI reports two youths charged with kidnapping 9 year old Michelle Wiebe face preliminary hearing March 27. David Fox Jeffrey William Price both 18 appeared before Municipal Judge Dave Allen set bail at 20000 each. A third suspect Robert Highfield 35 owner of a dry cleaning business is free on 20000 bail and arraignment is March 22. The juvenile suspect remains in custody. The suspects are accused of taking the girl March 6 and demanding 300000 ransom from her father Arnold Wiebe a wealthy auto dealer. The girl spent her ninth birthday in captivity and was released 20 hours later after a ransom drop plan failed when a motorist returned the money to police.
