Oil spill containment near Alameda Naval Air Station
Coast Guard said up to 4000 gallons of oil spilled into San Francisco Bay while transferring aboard the aircraft carrier Midway. The incident occurred about 10 30 p m Sunday and was contained by a Del Chemical Co employee between the carrier and Alameda Naval Air Station pier. Investigation into the spill’s cause is ongoing.
