Barton Flats Scout Camp Planned for Long Beach Youth
The Barton Flats tract in the San Bernardino Mountains is eyed for development into a premier Long Beach Scout camping site. The plan preserves forest cover and primitive camp sites while adding headquarters, water systems, sanitation, and partial development. Funds will be needed, with major gifts likely to bridge the $225,000 purchase price and development costs. Scout leaders will tour the site, discuss progress, and host a dinner at Camp Angelus to advance plans.
