Los Angeles urged stronger staff to avert riots says official
Julius M. Klein of the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission told a Mayfair Park luncheon that his 35‑member staff cannot adequately address a “No. 1” problem of ethnic tension. He warned the East Los Angeles riots showed warned by a detailed report not acted on, urging broader education, better school communications, fair housing, and stronger police-community ties. A second item notes a theft at a Bellflower pot office where a radio, adding machine and tools worth 215 dollars were taken.

The Mendocino and Metropolitan programs aim to conserve lives by helping addicts change how they view themselves.
