Ford official foresees 9.5 million auto sales in 1966

Ford Motor Co Vice President Lee A lacocca told Western automobile editors in San Francisco that U S auto sales will top 9.5 million this year up about 200000 from 1965. He predicted two to four cars per family and California to lead the market again by year end amid renewed prosperity.

Publishers Hit Hike in Paper Price

The American Newspaper Publishers Association condemned three Canadian producers for a $10 a ton newsprint price rise set to take effect April 1. Domtar Newsprint and Bowater North American group led the increases, with Macmillan Bloedel Powell River following suit. Prices would move from 134 to 144 dollars per ton, despite the industry arguing profits remain strong and labor costs rising.
