Vesco cash aid linked to Nixon drive, Mitchell cited
A government witness testified that former Attorney General John Mitchell arranged a meeting between SEC chief William Casey and Vesco lawyer shortly after Vesco gave 200000 dollars to Nixon's 1972 campaign. Sears said Mitchell and Stans discussed further contributions as Vesco sought to influence the SEC inquiry. The claim includes alleged plans for 250000 and other details of the scheme, with immunity for Sears.
