Unions Convene To Counter Oil Industry Influence
More than 100 delegates from 13 oil industry unions gather in Los Angeles for a two day meeting led by UNWCC to coordinate actions against perceived industry advantages. Ed Farmer opens proceedings as regional coordinator for western states and Alaska. Five more regional meetings are planned with a Washington national convention in late April. Also in court, Mrs. Carol Beth Thompson Mahoney regains her license eight weeks after suspension for suspected DUI and failing to take a blood alcohol test. The Melody Club of Ganado Mission High School singers from Arizona will perform a Spring Tour concert Friday at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in E Sixth Street with no admission charge.
