Russians dine better than ever says UN study
A UN report notes that by 1970 Russians consumed more meat and fish, narrowing the gap with Western diets. It credits 1950s agricultural policy shifts for improved nutrition, while Eastern Europe closes calorie and protein gaps with the West. The study, prepared for the UN Commission on Human Rights, will be discussed in Geneva.
