Mad Bomber Held Insane Will Be Tried
George Metesky, 54, of Waterbury Connecticut, who planted 32 bombs in New York City over 11 years, is judged insane but will face trial. He admitted the acts and is under psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue. Judge Mullen ordered a jury, with defense pleading insanity, while authorities note his actions stem from a grudge against Consolidated Edison.
