Washington (UPI) A national tribute to Chief Justice Earl Warren drew President Nixon's cabinet, Warren Court justices, and new chief justice Warren Burger. About 1,000 spectators applauded as Warren signed autographs and spoke humbly, saying he was honored. Organizers included Stewart Udall and Robert Finch. attendees included Mitchell, Churg, Katzenbach, Roger, and Justices Stewart, Black, Brennan, and White.

National Democratic Coalition opposes tax extension in 1970 debate
The National Steering Committee of the New Democratic Coalition called for vigorous opposition to any extension of the 10 percent surtax. It urged a campaign against the tax, arguing it supported war funding and failed to curb inflation. The group and 38 state affiliates suggested opposing senators or congressmen backing the Safeguard antiballistic missile system in 1970 elections. It also backed continued boycott of California gripes and attendance at Albania party convention.
