Stamps for Cash Law Expands Shopper Options in California
Californians will be able to redeem stamps for cash or goods under a 1559 Legislature law. Stamp firms like Green Stamps and Blue Chip will set redemption rates, about 1 mill per stamp or $1.20 per book, with licensing by the state commissioner and bonds of up to 100000. Violations carry fines to 1000, with consumer protection provisions and a 90 day notice for firms stopping issuance.
