Gun kill judge claim debated in Marin County case
Defense argues the fatal shot to Superior Court Judge Harald Haley may have come from convict William Christmas rather than Ruchell Magee. Los Angeles attorney Ernest Graves suggested the murder weapon could be a 3.57 Magnus pistol, with postmortem shotgun fire by Magee possibly delivering the fatal blow. Judge Arnason pressed audio tests to sequence the gunfire as Angela Davis seeks bail relief and news access. Magee still faces trial in a convoluted kidnapping murder case tied to the 1963 sentence controversy.
