L A kidnaper tied to second child victim case
The second Southland child victim was reunited with her mother as police in three cities pressed the Sharp case. Five year old Karen Joyce Huber of Echo Park was returned to her mother by San Diego police after living in a foster home under the name Karen Knapp placed by authorities who had custody since January. Sharp, jailed in Los Angeles County on 350000 bond, is charged in the June 17 abduction of Michele Lynn Booher of Long Beach. Police linked the two cases, noting both girls were blue-eyed and blonde, kidnapped after car thefts and taken to San Diego where he claimed they were his daughters. The Huber reunion occurred Thursday morning after San Diego officers questioned Sharp as he awaited arraignment in another case.
