Accused ex POW faces divorce as well
US Marine Lt. Col. Edison Miller, a 50 year prisoner of war and one of two high ranking officers charged with aiding the enemy in Viet Nam, must face a divorce hearing in Orange County Superior Court. Judge Walter Smith ordered $655 monthly support for Mrs. Lindsay Miller and four minor sons who may stay in the family home. Miller, bound for Camp Pendleton July 2, objected to support, citing need for orthopedic equipment and housing costs. He argued Pendleton bachelor officers quarters would echo his North Vietnam prison cell. He and Navy Capt. Walter E. Wilber were accused by Rear Adm. James Stockdale of aiding the enemy and misconduct in captivity. Mrs. Miller’s divorce plea includes physical abuse claims.
