Soldiers’ punishments eased as review widens at Ft Leonard Wood
The Army says 53 soldiers who faced discipline under Maj. Gen. Thomas Lipscomb’s command had their sentences reduced and 40 more are under review. All were tried at Ft Leonard Wood Missouri on charges from AWOL to disobeying a noncommissioned officer amid claims Lipscomb pressed for harsher penalties. The Army Board of Review cited the appearance of command influence creating prejudice.
