Ike's Approval Seen on Water Projects
President Eisenhower is expected to sign a compromised water projects bill authorizing about 13 percent of a billion dollars in projects. Congress and the administration agreed after conference committee action. The bill authorizes various California and other river basin works, but does not provide funding. An investigation into Standard Oil of California aims to reclaim about 470,000 from three ex-employees, with secrecy surrounding names and details as negotiations continue.
