Golden Years: Montague to Grow Grass in Retirement
Leon F. Montague, longtime head of Rotary International staff in Evanston, plans retirement at 65. He will become a landscaping consultant for Scott & Sons Seed Co., applying a lifelong interest in lawns and thoughtful service. Montague’s career spans Rotary leadership roles and a shift to advising on grass, landscaping, and garden design, with a plan for 125 to 175 workdays yearly and travel during summers. He grew up a Kansas cowhand, studied animal husbandry, and held various educational posts before joining Rotary.
