Escuela de la Raza, a bilingual preschool in Eastside, marked its third graduation as 10 students wore white gowns with red, white and green tassels. The program, funded by the State Department of Education for another year, combines education with cultural lessons and social services to build self confidence and prepare mostly Chicano children for Anglo-dominated schools.
