Army weighs court martial for general over Vietnam killings
The Army ordered an Article 32 grand jury type investigation at Ft. Meade, Md., to decide if Brig. Gen John W Donaldson should face a court martial for allegedly firing on Vietnamese civilians while commanding the Americal Division Uth Infantry Brigade in late 1968 to early 1969. Lt. Col. William J. McCloskey, his operations officer, faces a separate murder charge in the same probe. The two cases are not connected.
