AMA votes to form its own reinsurance company
Atlantic City reports the American Medical Association adopted a plan to establish a reinsurance firm with 1.5 million dollars in capitalization and at least 20 000 member physicians, aiming to cover malpractice risks. Delegates also raised dues from 110 to 250 dollars while rejecting a group job action proposal.

Brown gets bill to aid home loans
SACRAMENTO UPI The Legislature approved and sent Gov. Brown a 951 million bill to provide state financed home loans to low and moderate income Californians and to stimulate construction. The Senate backed it 33 to 6 and the Assembly 67 to 8 then 7156 to 5 after a missing text issue was fixed. Brown supports the measure and is expected to sign it.
