AMA Votes To More Than Double Dues Amid Financial Crisis
Atlantic City AP reports the American Medical Association moved to raise dues from 110 to 250, with members choosing a higher increase after a special committee suggested smaller steps. The crisis follows years of deficits, a 1974 loss of 3.5 million, and a projected 2.6 million deficit in 1975. Delegates debated strike rights and approved a long range plan while cutting Prism magazine to save costs, though Today's Health would stay.
