Financier to appeal 5.4 million UCB suit
A federal appellate court ruling denying dismissal of a 35.8 million suit by United California Bank against San Diego financier Charles K. Salik and associates will be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. The bank alleges the Salik group violated federal securities laws and breached warranties. The suit targets claims over a deer overpass project and names Paul Erd as defendant's agent. San Diego attorney Jack W. Crumbley notes the defense argued state limitations barred trial but was unsuccessful.
