An Akron tire expert testified that a blowout preceding the Long Beach Freeway crash that killed county Supervisor Burton Chace was not caused by tire defects. He said underinflation caused overheating and tire failure, noting his firm’s clients are large-budget firms and that he has testified in similar cases.
