Caspers warned twice against taking cruise
Orange County Supervisor Ronald Caspers faced warnings from his wife and an aide not to join a yacht voyage to Cabo San Lucas after his election win. The Shooting Star, carrying Caspers, his two sons Kirk and Rick, and seven others, sank in heavy seas off Baja California. A large search followed as details emerged about prior trips and Caspers long love of sailing.
