Jury ruling upholds cross section for juries in California
The California Supreme Court held that defendants have a right to a jury drawn from a district with a representative cross section of the area where the crime occurred. In a 4-3 Los Angeles County decision, Leon Jones's marijuana conviction was reversed due to underrepresentation of black residents in the trial district.
