Thomas James Simon a 30 year old tax preparer faces sentencing on June 18 after pleading guilty to three counts of willfully aiding and assisting in fraudulent federal income tax returns. He overstated itemized deductions for clients while at Competent Business Service and pleaded guilty June 1 in ILS District Court. Simon was among 18 Southern California preparers indicted February 15, 1978, and could receive up to nine years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
