Riverside artist turns odds into sculpture gold mine
J C a 27 year old self taught sculptor calls discarded odds and ends a gold mine. He lives in Riverside in a cluttered studio with five door locks and improvised lampshades. He roams for bargains buying clothes bakery scraps and citrus plant waste while stones and wood scraps fuel his animal centered works. He dislikes money chasing and seeks only freedom to create though he has a three month grant offer from a New Mexico foundation. He believes society undervalues creativity and calls for a people based reorganization rather than industry.
