Liberace Brother Violinist Leads Long Beach Jazz Odysse
In Long Beach the violinist George Liberace and his five piece ensemble play the Skyroom at Breakers International Hotel through August. His sister Adriane Dee sings and carries a sultry vocal act while plans with brother Lee for a joint fall show unfold. George recalls classic jazz favorites and notes the city’s audience prefers ballads and dance tunes. His German made violin, bought for $200, now valued at about $8,000, remains his prized instrument. Local performances include Jerry Praun at the Gay 90s on Signal Hill and the Burlap Sisters at the Sea Winds waterfront lounge.
