Jet Versus Balloon Weather Test To Be Conducted
The FAA awarded Fight Test Research, Inc. a contract to conduct September tests over the Mojave Desert using a jet trainer and a 612 foot balloon. The experiment aims to hit at least three of six balloons traveling at 330 mph at 20,000 feet as ESSA plans a worldwide network of 15,000 weather balloons.
