Teamster Loan Kickback Ties Mob Bigwigs to $1 Million Pact
Thirteen indicted on federal charges over a 20 percent kickback scheme tied to a $1 million Detroit Teamsters pension loan. Cosa Nostra figures, including Plumeri and Granello, allegedly funneled funds through Mid-City Development and a Detroit mob network, with an arbitration meeting in Pittsburgh settling disputes. Conviction hangs on conspiracy and anti racketeering counts carrying up to five years and $10,000 fines each.
