Croesus era dig in Sardis yields Lydian inscription
Cambridge based American expedition under Schools of Oriental Research continues at Sardis near the temple of Artemis. AF Academy waste alleged in House hearing
Washington reports that military officials face public hearings alleging fund transfers and wasteful practices at the Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs. Costs rose from 172.5 million to over 200 million with equipment and related items, as committee staff claim funds were diverted from operations to construction, while Campbell’s report found no illegal activity, noting construction costs differ from maintenance and operation. The probe cites many change orders and rushed contract awards as driving up costs.
