Signal Hill opened Hinshaw Park as the first organized recreation program this month. In week one more than 500 joined, nearing 1,000 in week two. Councilwoman Sandra Miller led a Recreation Commission which budgeted and sought a full time director. Patrick MacManus, 25, was hired as director and Roberta WyTan joined as recreation leader. the program aims to serve youth and adults with games, arts and crafts, and senior activities.
