Welfare fraud charges hit California couple in Roseville
In Roseville Sierra foothill town, Mrs Madrigal 33 and husband 36 were booked on 21 counts of welfare fraud. They allegedly collected over 10 000 in welfare overpayments while she worked in an emergency food program and he held a construction job. They admitted fraud and cited money to meet bills. Authorities said the scheme spanned three years and involved hiding earnings from benefits.
