Orr to Lead State Defense of 12 Percent Pay Hike
Governor Reagan’s office said State Finance Director Verne Orr will head a seven member delegation to Washington to seek approval from the President’s Cost of Living Council for a 12 percent average salary increase for state employees. The delegation will argue the rise is included in the 1973-74 state budget and comes despite earlier COLC challenges that it exceeded general wage standards.
