FCC to Use Diplomacy Against Pirate Radio Near L B Coast
FCC spokesman said the commission will seek State Department help to halt offshore broadcasts proposed by Lawrence Lipton of Venice off Long Beach. Plummer noted the FCC cannot directly stop foreign vessels beyond three miles but aims to use diplomatic pressure to curb the pirate station. He warned such broadcasts would interfere with U S channels and said action will wait until operations begin, doubting they will.
