Arson Under Investigation in San Joaquin Valley Fires

Five fires in Kern Kings and Fresno counties were investigated as arson amid a farm labor dispute between Teamsters and United Farm Workers. Damages ranged from 1,000 to 75,000 dollars as fuel was used on a truck and bins near Arvin Edison and Kingsburg areas while UFW pickets operated in the fields.
