County Grand Jury backs elected county mayor plan
The 1973-74 County Grand Jury backs Supervisor Kenneth Hahn on creating an elected county mayor and expanding the Board of Supervisors. The end-of-term report urges placing the issue on the November 5 ballot, noting an American form of government with a single executive. It anticipates a 7-member board and a chief executive, with the board growing from five to seven members to improve representation.
