Mitchell says Watergate cover up not Nixon risk
Mitchell testifies he kept Watergate details from Nixon to protect his reelection, calling Watergate “White House horrors” including burglaries and forged documents. He denies approving wiretaps or lying under oath, and says advisers feared public revelations during the 1972 campaign while senators dispute his credibility.
