Bernstein warms fifth Claremont Festival with varied program
Claremont Music Festival opens its fifth season with Bernstein conducting a thoughtful program featuring Haydn, Stravinsky, and Strauss. Critics praise the ensemble, noting solid woodwinds and polished strings while Bernstein steers clear of excess humor. The festival continues with Mozart, Ravel, Kodaly pieces and Nielsen, Dvorak, and Oliveros works, all at 8:15 p.m. on Pomona College campus.
