Viruses Tied to Leukemia in Cancer Links
Houston researchers at the International Cancer Congress report virus-like particles in 3 of 11 leukemia patients and virus-like effects in mice after exposure to leukemic extracts. Electron microscope exams of lymph glands showed virus characteristics, supporting the idea that viruses may trigger leukemia and possibly other cancers.
