Indian man tied to ambush hoax held after park scuffle
A year-old Indian man claiming to be bait in an elaborate plan to ambush Long Beach police was arrested after a scuffle over an air pistol at Houghton Park in North Long Beach. Robert Warlan, also called Indian Robert, faces assault on a police officer charges as investigators found no accomplices. Police said his tale of three visiting Indians and a planned siege appeared to be a hoax or the product of imagination following FBI agents’ Wounded Knee trip.
