Lemonade links and tame tales of town life in snippets
A fragmentary collage outlines lemonade offers by the Chamber of Commerce and mixed urban anecdotes. It recalls a 1987 note on a city lemonade push, a dental plate anecdote tied to a government check incident, and a Washington reference to a 60 cent debt paid after a tip. The piece weaves local business quirks with distant federal mentions and a driver’s conscience.

Exhibition in New York draws packed crowd and mixed reviews
The Moscow correspondent described the New York exhibition as a dazzling, smash opening with 1,000 people in line in the sun and an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 total attendance for its 42 days. Admission is one dollar for adults and fifty cents for children. Some sections showed Soviet goods below U S standards, yet overall press reception was favorable and aims to show life in the Soviet Union. The show mirrors its Moscow counterpart intended to illuminate how the other side lives.
