Norma Gibbs Pioneers Women in Local Politics by 1960
Norma Gibbs, Orange County’s first female city council member, remains active as she and other women join local councils. A three hour daily workshop led by Gibbs and fellow councilwomen trained 20 students on running campaigns and campaign management, boosting confidence among women candidates and highlighting the demands of city politics.
