Mr and Mrs Elmer McLain of Paramount will be honored Sunday at a golden wedding anniversary reception at Community Baptist Church Paramount. They married January 29 1923 in Independence Kansas and have lived in the Long Beach area 32 years. He is retired from Royal Farm Creamery South Gate and she from Sears Roebuck and Co Compton. They have 20 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. John F. Unterberg of Lakewood celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the Lakewood American Legion Hall with more than 100 friends and relatives. Their four children, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild attended. the couple, married January 6, 1928 in Chicago, have lived in the Long Beach area 16 years. He retired in 1964 after 57 years with Commonwealth Edison. The Unterbergs are active in the All American Association of Contest Judges and American Legion Post 496.
The Mall of Orange sponsors its second annual cake decorating festival today from noon to five and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. An amateur decorating contest is open to women who have never taken a class. Winners receive $5 store certificates hourly. Fifteen professionals will decorate free and answer questions.
